Kelapo™ Extra Virgin Coconut Oil ~ Review

*Disclosure: I received the following product(s) in exchange for an honest review and in no way was I asked to give a positive review. I received no compensation for this publication. My opinions are my own and may differ from those of your own. This disclosure is in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255, Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.

It's only been about a year since I've been using coconut oil in baking and still wonder where my head was at years ago for not using it sooner. Kelapo extra virgin coconut oil is 100% organic, certified Fair Trade, and approved by The Vegetarian Society. Between the health benefits, flavor and miscellaneous uses of coconut oil, Kelapo is one of the better oils on the market in my opinion.

Tropical Traditions Review & Giveaway - Ends 8/28

~Guest Post~
Review by Earth's Delights

About Tropical Traditions

The founders of Tropical Traditions are Brian and Marianita Shilhavy.

Brian W. Shilhavy, BA, MA
Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible/Greek from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and his Master of Arts degree in linguistics from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago. He is currently the CEO of Tropical Traditions, Inc., and the Editor of Health Impact News.

Marianita Jader Shilhavy, BS, CND (Certified Nutritionist/Dietician in the Philippines) earned her bachelor of science degree in nutrition in Manila. Understanding the nutrition of Filipino foods, Marianita worked for over eight years as a hospital dietician and nutritional counselor in the Philippines.

In 1998 Brian  and Marianita returned to the Philippines with their three children and renovated Marianita's old family farmhouse. By this time the coconut industry was severely depressed due to the negative U.S. campaigns against tropical oils in the 1980s and 1990s. Coconut farmers could no longer support their families on the income generated from harvesting coconuts.

Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?

Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online. Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.

My Thoughts:

Wow I never knew how much you can use coconut oil for until I actually searched it.  Coconut oil is not just for cooking, you can use it for so much more!
First thing I used/tried Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil was for cooking.  I decided to give the old fashioned fried chicken a try.  Not only was the fried chicken healthy, the taste was out of this world!!  I then tried the oil for various other reasons.  Poor Louie (my little cat) has an eye infection, so I spoke to his vet about the coconut oil and he said it was a good idea. I dabbed a small bit of the oil onto his tear duct to help clear it.  Louie actually love the taste of the oil, it's sweet, and it seems to be helping with the infection.

If your looking for a great cooking oil,  Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil is the way to go and the only oil I'll be buying in the future.

Lean Cuisine Chef's Pick

Here it is 2am and I'm starving!  So I decided to give the Lean Cuisine I had in the freezer a try....maybe if I remembered to eat dinner I wouldn't be hungry...ya think LOL

I had the Chef's Pick Lemon Chicken and figured it's small enough to fill me up, but not to big where I'd be stuffed.  I enjoyed it so much that I just had to share.
